Poker Rules
Purr Poker follows standard Texas Hold'em rules with a few platform-specific adaptations to ensure fair, transparent, and enjoyable gameplay in a decentralized environment.
Texas Hold'em Basics
Game Overview
Texas Hold'em is a community card poker variant where each player is dealt two private cards (hole cards) and uses them in combination with five community cards to make the best possible five-card poker hand.
Game Sequence
- Pre-Flop: Each player is dealt two hole cards. Betting round begins with the player to the left of the big blind.
- Flop: Three community cards are dealt face up. Another betting round occurs.
- Turn: A fourth community card is dealt. Another betting round takes place.
- River: The fifth and final community card is dealt, followed by the final betting round.
- Showdown: If multiple players remain, cards are revealed and the best hand wins the pot.
Player Actions
- Check: Pass the action to the next player without betting (only if no bets have been made in the current round)
- Bet/Raise: Place a wager or increase an existing bet
- Call: Match the current bet to stay in the hand
- Fold: Discard your hand and forfeit any chance at the current pot

Purr Poker offers various betting structures to suit different gameplay preferences:
No-Limit Hold'em

Blinds are forced bets that ensure there's money in the pot to play for:
Small Blind
Posted by the player to the left of the dealer button, typically half the big blind amount.
Big Blind
Posted by the player to the left of the small blind, sets the minimum bet size for the first betting round.
Ante (optional)
Some tables include antes, which are small forced bets posted by all players before each hand.
Button Movement
The dealer button moves clockwise after each hand, ensuring fair distribution of blind positions.

Platform-Specific Rules
Time Banks
Players have 15 seconds to act on their turn, with an additional time bank of 30 seconds that can be used for difficult decisions. The time bank replenishes at a rate of 3 seconds per hand played, up to the maximum.
Disconnection Policy
If a player disconnects during a hand, they will automatically check when possible or fold when facing a bet. The player's time bank is used first before auto-actions are taken. After two consecutive hands of inactivity, the player is automatically removed from the table (cash games only).
Rake Structure
For tables created by the Purr Poker protocol, a simple and transparent rake structure is implemented:
- A fixed 3.5% rake is collected from all pots
- For custom tables created by users, the table creator can define their own rake structure
- 65% of all rake collected from protocol tables is distributed to $POKER holders via buyback mechanism
- For custom tables, 75% of rake goes to the table creator, 25% to the platform
Table Chat Rules
To maintain a positive playing environment, Purr Poker enforces these chat rules:
- No abusive language, harassment, or offensive content
- No discussion of hands in progress
- No collusion or sharing of hole card information
- No spam, external links, or promotional content
Note: Violations may result in chat restrictions or account suspension.
Fair Play & Anti-Cheating Measures
Purr Poker employs several measures to ensure fair gameplay:
Collusion Prevention
Advanced algorithms detect suspicious betting patterns and player relationships, with regular audits of hand histories to identify potential collusion.
Bot Detection
Behavior analysis tools identify non-human playing patterns, with CAPTCHA challenges for suspicious accounts and manual review of flagged accounts.
Random Number Generation
Industry-standard RNG certificate ensures truly random card dealing, with each shuffle and deal verifiable.
Multi-Account Prevention
Wallet-based authentication prevents multi-accounting, with device fingerprinting and IP monitoring to detect suspicious login patterns.
